Since Scout7 was established in 2001, our team has grown from a small handful of employees based in the UK to a multi-national organization of full time staff based all over the world.
Below are profiles of the key members that make up this team, who all work together to ensure Scout7 continues to lead the way in technological development, client management and system support.
Having formerly been Deputy Chief Executive and Finance Director of Aston Villa Football Club, Mark brings to Scout7 considerable experience and knowledge of the day-to-day requirements of the modern 21st Century professional football club. He possesses a formidable portfolio of success in business finance, including over 25 years experience with international accountancy firm Deloitte Touche, where his roles included Head of Corporate Finance and Managing Partner. In addition to his involvement with Scout7, he is also a successful business and corporate finance consultant.
Having established the business in 2001, Lee is the entrepreneurial drive and vision behind Scout7. In the past seven years, Lee has worked extensively with clubs, national associations and regulatory bodies at all levels to ensure Scout7's evolving technologies and services continue to provide the most comprehensive solution available, fitting the personal requirements of each professional club within every level of the professional football pyramid, both in the UK and abroad.
Anthea Tape - Company Secretary and Finance Manager anthea@scout7.com
Anthea joined Scout7 in the summer of 2007 initially as Finance Manager, but since the spring of 2008 has also been operating as the Company Secretary. As well as past experience in sports finance, Anthea provides crucial Human Resource support to all members of Scout7's international workforce, to ensure all departments operate with maximum efficiency to meet all their various deadlines and customer requirements.
John Marsden - Non-Executive Director
A venture capitalist of 20 years experience working with young SMEs, John represents the management of the Advantage Technology Fund, the institutional investor in Scout7. He sits on the Company Board as a non-executive director.
Simon Davison - Business Development and Account Management simon@scout7.com
Since joining Scout7 in June 2006, Simon has worked as an Account Manager and is responsible for looking after all client clubs in the FA Premier League, Scotland and the Netherlands, to ensure they get the most out of the various services that Scout7 provide. Simon leads the after-sales support and regularly visits staff at all clubs in his region to provide personal service, as well as offering remote assistance via the Head Office. Prior to joining Scout7, Simon completed a Masters in Sport Psychology at Loughborough University and has experience of working in the field with the England Women's FA and the Newcastle United Academy.
The newest member of Scout7's account management team, Jon is responsible for business development and account management in the English Football League and Blue Square Premier. Following a playing career spanning fifteen years at four different professional clubs, Jon has kept involved in the game through part-time scouting and coaching since his retirement in 2004. He spent the vast majority of his professional career with Chesterfield, where he made over 200 league appearances, and also featured in the famous 1997 FA Cup Semi Final against Middlesbrough at Old Trafford.
Stephan joined Scout7 in the Autumn of 2007 as the company's first ever General Manager for Germany and Austria, having previously made over 200 domestic league appearances as a professional for clubs in Germany and Turkey. Having featured for a number of prestigious German clubs in the 1990's, including Bayer 04 Leverkusen and St Pauli, Stephan now combines his Scout7 duties whilst continuing to play semi professionally. In his role as General Manager, Stephan provides support to existing client clubs in Germany and Austria as well as introducing the technology to new clubs interested in the various solutions provided by the company.
Having graduated from university of with a double diploma in International Trade and Relationships (MA), Jerome is Scout7's Head of Business Development for France. In his role Jerome liaises with scouts, managers and sport directors at client clubs to ensure they enjoy the full benefits of the company's technology and services, whilst also regularly setting up new business meetings with French club prospects, providing comprehensive demonstrations of how Scout7 can assist in evolving a club's scouting operation. Jerome is also directly responsible for the company's growth in Africa, regularly attending international competitions in the region and managing the recent ProScout7 database expansion in the North of the continent.
Andy has been with Scout7 since January 2005 and in the past three years has established the company's PR and Communication department. As well as editing and managing Scout7's regular publications to clubs and media alike across Europe, Andy leads a number of global research projects including player Contract Expiry directories and detailed international football overviews covering a number of continents including South America, Africa and Asia. Prior to joining Scout7 Andy, a qualified journalist, worked as a freelance for a number of organizations including BBC Online.
Iain Plimmer - Senior Developer and Team Leader iain@scout7.com
Back in 2001, Iain was responsible for creating and developing the first ever version of the ProScout7 system whilst working as a Senior Developer at IWeb Limited. During the next four years Iain, who possesses core skills in four different system languages, worked as Head of Development at Onetoo Limited, producing applications and systems designed specifically for mobile handsets and then as an applications developer at DatingDirect.com, the largest dating website in the world. He returned to Scout7 at the start of 2007 to work on the development of both the ProSquad7 and ProScout7 solutions and also delegates work to the other members of the department.
Having had extensive experience working overseas in the telecommunications industry, Uzma joined Scout7 in the second half of 2008 to assist in the development of both the ProScout7 and ProSquad7 solutions. Possessing a bachelors degree in Information Technology from NUST in Pakistan, Uzma has extensive knowledge of web technologies, database servers, software development methodologies and is fluent in a number of different system languages. She also has experience of wireless application development and .Net Compact Framework. Prior to joining Scout7's technology team, Uzma spent three years working as a Quality Engineer for Mobilink, an Orascom Telecom Company, to resolve mobile network based technical issues.
Satnam joined Scout7 in the summer of 2008, having spent three years working in various web based roles ranging from front-end web design to back-end development. A graduate in Computer Visualisation (BSc) from Nottingham Trent University, Satnam possesses key skills in a number of different system languages and has also Project Managed the Intranet and Extranet developments for a business in the recruitment industry, prior to joining Scout7's Technology team.
Nick was drafted into Scout7's UK database team in early 2007 to support the increasing demand from Scout7's UK client base for accurate and comprehensive information on professional players playing at all levels in the British Isles. In the summer of 2008 Nick was promoted to the position of ProScout7 Product Manager, to oversee the management of both generic and club specific system developments, to ensure that each one fulfills the original requirements laid out by senior club staff. In addition to his management responsibilities, Nick continues to assist Jonty Keeley in maintaining the reserve and youth leagues within ProScout7. Prior to joining Scout7, Nick spent seven years working in the dental industry as a technician.
Jack joined Scout7 in the summer of 2008 to manage the requirements of a growing number of clubs becoming development partners on the company's ProSquad7 product. A graduate in Sports Management at Coventry University, Jack manages the various system developments driven by the key contacts at client clubs and is responsible, together with the account management and technology teams, of ensuring each one is delivered on time and to the correct specification that was outlined at the start of the process. An active semi-professional player with experience at various clubs in the Southern League, Jack previously worked in football database management prior to joining Scout7.
A Scout7 employee since November 2001, Jonty's hard work and passion for football have seen him progress to become the company's UK Database Manager. Jonty is responsible for managing and maintaining information for over 5,000 players involved in senior, reserve and youth football in the British Isles, both at league and non league level. In his time with Scout7, Jonty has overseen the growth of the database into the largest source of domestic information available to UK clubs. In addition, over the past 12 months Jonty has also become increasingly involved in the co-ordination of Scout7's international database, liaising with correspondents all over the world to ensure all data is entered quickly and accurately.

Dean has been involved with Scout7 since the formation of the company and has fulfilled various roles within the database department. He currently holds the position of International Database Co-Ordinator, managing a team of over 35 research correspondents around the world, ensuring match details are entered promptly, fixtures and competition details remain up to date and making sure all personal player records include comprehensive general details, including accurate contract expiry dates and agent details.
Dani joined Scout7 in March 2004 and became the company's first ever South American researcher. At first, Dani started covering major domestic leagues from Argentina and Brazil as well as competitions including the Copa Libertadores. Within two years, he was appointed to the position of South American Database Manager, the role he holds today, where he manages a team of four full time researchers managing over twelve domestic leagues in South and Central America, together with all International football from the CONMEBOL and CONCACAF federations. Prior to joining Scout7, Dani gained considerable experience in football database management as the Head Researcher for Sports Interactive in Argentina for a period of 10 years.
Pierre has been Scout7's French football analyst for the past six years, managing the French database at both domestic and international level. In addition to maintaining player and match data in seven leagues within the French football pyramid, Pierre also manages the information requests made by French customers and also leads a number of sophisticated research projects for European and African based international tournaments. Pierre couples his Scout7 duties with a career in broadcasting, where he provides commentaries and match analysis for radio and TV throughout the domestic season.
Bartek joined Scout7's full time database team in the summer of 2007 to manage the company's comprehensive German database. Bartek maintains information for the top four senior domestic leagues, together with the three regional Jugend-Bundesliga divisions and all German international football. A qualified teacher in modern languages, Bartek also maintains information in a number of Eastern European leagues, making good use of his linguistic skills.
