Scout7 was established in 2001 by Lee Jamison (the company's managing director) and John Haynes, who sadly passed away in the early weeks of 2008.
With a background in IT within the insurance industry, in the late 1990's Jamison recognised that the onset of the internet would see information distributed globally, in a way never seen before. Being an avid football fan and an amateur player, he turned his attention towards professional football and the opportunity to distribute player information to Football Clubs.
After a few conversations with close friends (including John Haynes) and tentative enquiries with local clubs, in early 2001 Scout7 Ltd was established and the first version of its revolutionary system ProScout7 was developed and launched. On 13 April 2001, the company secured its first contract, installing ProScout7 at West Bromwich Albion FC.
Following this, Aston Villa FC, Liverpool FC and Manchester United FC soon recognised the huge opportunity presented to them from the ProScout7 system - the power of information, monitoring football in more than 120 countries across the world. A system moving the club away from a reliance upon Agents and offering a level of transparency and due diligence never seen in player scouting and recruitment before.
The 8 years that followed has seen Scout7 go from strength-to-strength, establishing itself in the French, Dutch, German, Spanish and American markets, in addition to becoming a standard component in English football with more than 30 clubs in the top 2 Divisions of England using ProScout7 daily to proactively manage their scouting and recruitment operation.
The company has gained a stature in the game beyond even the expectations of its founders. The company employs over 20 full-time staff in Europe and South America and has more than 30 database correspondents throughout the world, each monitoring their assigned region and inputting match statistics into the central ProScout7 database, which now monitors the progress of more than 60,000 players.
New systems have been developed at the demand of clubs with vision and a desire to take the lead in technology. In the spring of 2009, the company secured exclusive distribution rights for the Xeatre.tv video application to football clubs. The collaboration has resulted in the existing solution being tailored to fit the specific needs of professional clubs for their international recruitment and analysis, using a legitimate feed of match footage encompassing all established and emerging overseas recruitment markets.
Later in the same year, ProSquad7 was launched following a period of development with clubs in England, Scotland, Germany and France. An internal player development, youth recruitment and management solution, ProSquad7 incorporates a number of specialist modules relating to Coaching, Medical and Sports Science that have been developed with various experts in each field to supplement core features, resulting in the ultimate elite Squad Management solution for clubs all over the world.
Scout7 is a trusted partner for leading Football Clubs throughout Europe. Its technology is robust and secure and its people are knowledgeable and well-liked within the game.
As managers and head coaches come and go, and the face of football globally continues to change, Scout7 looks forward to maintaining its position as market-leader, integral to the game and leading new initiatives for many seasons to come...
